Hello Guys,

My first post here smile.gif

System Specs:
CPU: AMD Athlon x2 II 240 2.8 Ghz
MotherBoard: Geforce 6100PM - M2
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5770 HIS ICEQ 5 Model (Factory Overclocked)
Ram: 2 GB Kingston DDR 2
PSU: Cooler Master 550 Watts (Real Power)
OS: Windows 7 64 Bit

CPU z 1.png 118k .png file
CPU z 2.png 62k .png file
CPU z 3.png 61k .png file
CPU z 4.png 67k .png file
CPU z 5.png 47k .png file

I want to overclock my CPU and GPU. Is it possible? and How to overclock? should I use the AOD?
If you are in need of some other information to answer my questions, please let me know.

Thank you

set HT link multiplier to 4x. This will put it to 800mhz and it will increase by 4mhz for every increase of fsb by 1mhz eg. 210 x 4 = 840mhz and cpu will be 2940 with your cpu multiplier at 14x.
But before you do anything, you might want to look into cooling because your cpu is kinda hot in the screen shots you provided. But if that is your max temp at 100% load, then it should be safe to start overclocking. So if that's the case then start with HT link at 4x and start raising FSB and do it like the guide says that ronin referred to. Also your HT is 1000mhz so dont get confused with the guide.

True that, the mobo is a bit oldish, I hadn't noticed at first.

Thank u dafk, really appreciate the help. smile.gif

I have few questions,

firstly, is my mobo good enough to overclock my cpu to say around 300-400 MHZ?
Would my ram also overclock along with my CPU? would it be fine?
My mobo BIOS does not allow me to change voltages.
How to check the temp of my processor under 100% stress? i have prime95 but don't know how to use.
Which software should i use to overclock, is AOD fine?

in my opinion, I think its more easier for me to overclock my GPU than my CPU, am i rite? in case I decide to overclock my GPU only, to what extent can i overclock given my CPU , ram and mobo? and is it going to have a significant impact?

Reference Clock = 200
CPU Multiplier = 14
HT link multiplier = 5

Is the info above about my PC correct?

is HT link multiplier same as NB multiplier?
Also I am unable to figure out my Ram multiplier, its 2 GB Kingston DDR2 400 MHz. Can someone help me out plz.

DRAM Frequency = 401.8
FSB:DRAM = 1:2

Most of those questions are answered in the guide that I gave you smile.gif

Go to google, search core temp, download it, run it.
Download prime95 or linX, and start stress testing. Make sure cpu usage goes to 100%, monitor your temps, higher than 50c IMO you have cooling issues.
You can also run a game like GTA4, crysis, etc high cpu using games. Leave core temp open, play the game for 10 minutes, close it, check core temp where it says "High", it will be the max temp your cpu reached when you played your game. I'll help more when you give temps.

also, NB is not the same as HT.
the guide says this.
Common terms:
CPU - your processor
VCore - the voltage of the CPU
NB - North Bridge (in older boards - the chipset. In newer boards - the integrated memory controller)
HT - hyperTransport - the link between CPU and RAM
Multi - multiplier
Ref.clock - Reference clock
Freq - frequency
