Not quite. I would take a similar path to some of the more larger flashy companies (like Roccat or Razer) if I was involved in something that big.

I could have setup a project similar to BST's a couple years ago. I actually pulled out because I figured the risk factor is much larger than I could have had invested. Besides Factory OEMs can only guide you so far. I know much more than I knew back then. wink.gif

PS: I don't feel qualified for such a position either. I mean I feel that I know more than some of these brands without r&d, but I'm really nothing without some sort of degree. ^^

That's a bad excuse, having a degree is a good start, but eventually a degree pretty much always gets beaten by pure good old fashioned experience.

Not in the business world. Companies don't fly by that rule any more, they don't want to take chances on potential employees that can't 'prove' what they know without at least some sort of cert at a minimum.
I have first hand experience in the matter, as I'm going through this very scenario and literally can't land a job for anything right now after working an operations/tech support job for 8 yrs at a local hospital which didn't require any kind of cert or degree when I was hired. I'm going on 9 months of unemployment with no one giving me the time of day without SOME sort of written proof that I can do what I've been doing since 2003.

I know at least one guy that is doing well without a degree. biggrin.gif

That's fine and all and I know 2 - one that is doing well and one that's not. Once he gets laid off like I did he's going to have a hell of a time finding another job - like I am, without a degree because no matter where I look, that's what they want. So hope that if you start making too much $$ (like I did) they don't decide to evaluate the company budget and get rid of the higher paid staff.
I will most likely have to choose a COMPLETELY different career path, and I'm not young. frown.gif

@Dunan

I was talking about "mouse making business" not about business in general.

The guy with experience and a degree is more secure than the guy with experience or a plain degree biggrin.gif

And the unexperienced guy without a degree is really screwed. biggrin.gif
