Optimal Resolution for Sony KD-36XS955 connected to HTPC?

Thread Starter
Hey Y'all,

I just got a steal on this tv, which was a significant improvement over my old square Panasonic ~1995 tv. The only resolution option I have on my GT430 via hdmi that will take advantage of the whole screen. 1920x1080 works but only takes up 2/3 of the screen. Anyone with experience with this? I've found the options with this card on hdmi lacking.

Thanks!

in the nvidia control panel click on adjust desktop size and position and then turn off the gpu scaling. i had to do this on my tv when i hooked up my pc thru HDMI

one you turn off the scaling you may have to adjust the size so click the second tab then enable desktop resizing and walk thru the steps to clean everything up.

I didn't find the option to disable GPU scaling, I tried to use the utility to resize my desktop, once I set it the settings didn't stick. Should I swap the gt430 with my HD4350 and try my luck?

set screen to native, then go in the gpu and se scale to 0 ,res to 1080 59 herts (p).this should fix your issue!if you use amd 12.6 you might have to set it each time (not sure)because mine doesnt stick to the supposed setting !(might be because i disable indexing, but i aint indexing this just for this hell no!take too much ressource)
