1600MHz RAM only 683MHz in CPU-Z after CPU OC?

So I have followed a few guides on overclocking my i7 920 and have come to a stable clock of 3.6GHz at a voltage of 1.18. After following these guides and getting a good understanding of exactly what I am doing I found that my DRAM Frequency was only at 683MHz when I imagined it should be at 1600.
I changed a lot of things in the BIOS so I am assuming it has something to do with that...although I did find that some motherboards have a default setting of RAM which make it a lot lower then it's speed even without an overclock?

I have typed up the exact settings I changed in my BIOS as well as including pictures of my RAM, CPU-Z and Speccy.

Also, say I can clock my RAM speed up to the 1600MHz would that be affecting the CPU overclock and increase the CPU temperature/or Vcore frequency?

Memory speed is based of multiples of the BCLK. The next multiplier (2:10) would give you DDR3-1700, which may or may not be stable on that memory without tweaking, and which would require your UCLK frequency to be raised to 3400MHz (20x uncore multiplier).

1- The effective dram frequency is twice that of what cpu-z shows. You already wrote it in the bios settings, "DRAM Freq: DDR3 - 1371MHz"

2- The RAM speed is set on multis of the bus speed. When overclocking and the ram settings are set to auto, the multi will be lowered to keep under the specified speed(to avoid unstability)
If you want to set the speed higher, Find a setting in the BIOS called something like "RAM multiplier" and set it up a notch.(you probably need to up the ram voltage to keep it stable)

Thanks for the quick reply. By upping the RAM voltage does that in any way effect my overclock? Any what is a suitable temperature for ram if I do increase it's voltage?

Increasing your ram voltage is not going to effect your overclock. You need to read the specifications for your ram to see what the voltage should be. Most DDR3 ram for i7 9XX CPU's runs 1.65V - 1.66V when running the ram at the specified speed and timings.

This link is a great tool to see how your BCLK, CPU multi, Uncore multi and ram multi can be changed to get different settings.
