the other day my video card bit the dust, Screen flashing black,along with little red pixels. I tried re-seating the gpu to no avail. After putting the video card back together It wouldn't even boot, I could just tap the button and it would shut off. I tried putting in a working 9800gt and the same thing happened. not booting and the screen is doing some kind of flickering. Again, just press the button one time and it shuts off. (when its regularly booted I have to hold the button in for a hard shutdown. I am just assuming its not booted since it powers down with one click of the button)
Please help, I am on a very tight budget and dont feel like throwing parts at this thing. Are pre-builts on newegg even worth my time? They are pretty cheap and from the specs look fairly decent.
Also, I have a gtx 460 arriving on tigerdirect that I just read is non returnable through tiger, (great) so I have the graphics card situation handled for the most part.
::edit:: Just spoke to tigerdirect and they told me to refuse delivery if I want a refund, I am thinking I should. To put towards either another cheap build, or pre-built? Let me get your opinions.
