Stutter Stutter Stutter! HD 7850

Hi all
just upgraded from my ancient 5750 to 7850. Check my sig for specs. I'm running catalyst 12.4. Literally every game stutters! At the same settings I was running on my 5750 let alone higher settings. This really sucks. So much for my excitement. Ive tried crysis, 2, bf3, arkham city etc etc. Anyone could help me out with this stupid issue?

Could somebody please give me some pointers. Ive tried upgrading to 11.6 beta . Same issue. This is an issue with ANY game I play

have you checked none of your hardware is overheating e.g. card or cpu? it could be thermal throttling.

Holy ****.. My CPU temps are raching 80 deg while gaming.. Without OC.. any idea why? My cabby has good airflow..

mrcooler I'd buy you a beer if i could. I realised id goofed up. Removed the cpu cooler and isntalled it again without applying thermal paste. Cleaned out the old stuff and added new cooler master paste.. MAX temps during gaming now are 58 .. And yes.. my mobo was throttling at 70 deg... Everythings working fine now! phew..
Never realised thermal paste could make such a remarkable difference!

No worries and thanks for the beer smil3dbd4e4c2e742.gif I'm not called mrcooler for nothing lol. Stuttering in games is mostly caused by a slow cpu but I looked at your rig and saw the 1090T which defiantly isn't a slow cpu, so it could only mean thermal throttling. As you now know its compulsory to re-apply the thermal paste after removing a cooler.

I am having the same problem with all games. All temps are acceptable. CPU max temp is 56 and gpu 68 degrees c. I have the latest drivers 12.8. Can anyone help? Thanks

Try official 12.6 drivers, they worked best for me with HD 7950 and HD 7870.

At 80c on your Phenom you might have degraded it, as the max temp for those is 62c iirc.
58c whilest gaming is stil high, if i were you id get a new CPU cooler + some MX-2 thermal paste or something similair.
