+1 for the 3570K. However there isn't a big difference in performance between the 2.

All modern processors run hot. A Z77 motherboard is for that type of processor. Yes, it would work for the 2500k, but you would be paying more money for features you can even use, such as PCI-E 3.0. You can only use other features if you have an Ivy Bridge processor (3570k)....If you're more leaned towards the 2500k, buy a Z68 motherboard so you can use the features.

I would just get the 3570k because it is the latest and greatest. Buy a better cooler if you're that concerned about temps. There are fantastic heatsinks that are under 40 dollars. ie: Freezer pro 2, Coolermaster EVO, Hyper 212 Plus..
