suggest me a case

Thread Starter
ooking to get a new case for a new build but it has to have the following criteria:

- 2x120mm or 2x140mm front mount fan
- 2x120mm or 2x140mm top mount fan
- at least 3x5.25" drive bays
- hdd bays like the PC-K9WX or the Arc Midi

the best candidates for the case im looking for were:

PC-K9WX - lacks the the top mounted fan
Arc Midi - lacks the 5.25" drive bay

any help would be appreciated.. thanks

Have you checked out the Corsair 500R? I just got mine a few weeks ago and love it. Plenty of room, looks good, very well built and thought out and has features youre wanting in terms of fans and 3.5 bays. Not sure about the HDD bays though but still worth a shot.

Not necessarily.
The Corsair Carbide 300R comes standard with a single, 4 tray drive cage and you can order a secondary cage (which comes with two trays) along with two additional trays for under $10 (less shipping) from their web store and RAID away to your hearts content with 8 drives.

As for (all) of your other requirements, the little 300R fills them all, although if you are deadset on two 140mms up top, you would lose the ability to fill the upper bay with an ODD as there is just not enough room. A 140mm top rear and 120mm top front will work with an ODD in the upper bay.
This I know for a fact.thumb.gif

Some A/B comparisons (although neither Lian-Li or Fractal choices were included) of some of the competition.

3 fans is plenty for airflow, by the time you get above 2 or 3 fans, anything extra is going to be marginal. besides, your cpu cooler is going to be blasting it all out the back anyway, if you mount the fans horizontally. cases that have top fan mounts lose structural stability and are prone to vibrations and flex, plus having two fans shooting out air right next to your head is going to just be added noise
