Ahhh... i had that cooler for my 1055t, you REALLY need a exhaust fan for the case to be pulling hot air wondering around the CPU fan , try having a desk fan or something blowing into the fan and see what happens.

BTW, the psu fan is sucking air into the psu and blowing it outside the case, not the other way around.

No, your top-mounted PSU won't matter (although bottom-mount is a better choice) But as the above poster said, you DO need a back exhaust to blow hot air out. Zalman fans are good. I use two ZM-F3 Blue LED fans (one intake, one exhaust). Noisy (w/o fan controller, directly connected with PSU) but strong.

If I got a hyper tx3 and positioned it right, wouldn't I be able to push the hot air out through the grid with that?

Sure, but a exhaust fan is greatly recommended. Helps the overall airflow of the case.

Allright thank you. I think I will have to get the hyper tx3, hopefully it can give me better performance and lower noise than my stock AMD, and then maybe I can get the salesassistant to throw in a case fan for a little extra buck.

I think I've learnd the lesson that sometimes it's maybe ok to spend a little extra off the bat, instead of counting on upgrading, because one component will lead to the other...

I just wanted to say I bought the TX3, turns out it was the EVO. It fit well in my case, andI couldn't be happier. There's really no comparison to the level of noise my stock cooler made and this one, and as I'm typing I'm running a FFT max heat test with prime, and it just does a great job with 44C max load, which is a HUGE difference (my old system would simply crash and force shut at 67C), and it's not even loud. I have to say I did some cable management too after I brought home the TX3 evo, but it is certainly money very well spent. I'll advise anyone else in my position to get the tx3 evo. Probably the best upgrade I could've made.

It's just amazing I'm sitting here watching my cores at 100% and still it can get he temp down to even 33C when fluctuating low.

Really? I was told with my HAF case to not run a rear exhaust fan and cut out the grill.

Whoa. Where do you live, Antarctica? My Hyper 612 PWM on a i7 920 overclocked to 4GHz gives me 73C max load.

I don't know if I'm using the wrong stress tests, but that's what Prime95 gave me and Intels buurntest gave me 49* max, however playing DOTA got me up to about 62C, also under these tests the CPU temperature is fluctuating a lot. Should I reseat the heatsink, to make sure I've installed the hyper tx3 evo correctly?

This is so weird, when I try to max stress it's like the CPU is not affected in some way, It fluctuates like hell in temps, and sometimes reaches even 64C for a brief second or two according to CoreTemp. I don't have stable load temps, and I tried reseating, but that didn't change a thing. Running prime95 will only give me flucts up to 45C bot playing Dota can give me max temps for brief up to 64C!!! that's too hot for me!
