Best bang for the buck Ivy Bridge combo?

I've been out of the loop for a while with CPU and Motherboards lately, but I've recently come into cash about $500 and I would like to get a new CPU and Motherboard. I'm upgrading from my i7 920 and Asus X58. I'm looking for something like the 920 or the 2500k in it's family; cheap, reliable, high overclocking etc. as well as a decent mobo to go with it, just as long as it has crossfire/sli and pci x1.0. Can I get a few recommendations?

Although my system ok for now, I've played the waiting game before and its not fun. But I don't plan on upgrading till november so we'll see.

I dont know if its a waiting game. Theres just no point that I know of to upgrade. Maybe save power?
Our 4ghz 920/930 are not throttled by anything. I run a 7970 OC fine.
If you were going high end for photoshop etc you would spend more than $500 anyway, so once again I dont see the point. Buts thats me and my advice.
