I've been looking for new cards for a while now as well and have been tossing up between the 680 and the 7970. TBH, the performance difference is so minimal (ill be putting them underwater and OCing them) but the price really makes the choice easy... I really have not had a problem with AMD's drivers and I've been running 2x 5870's so I don't really see that as a reason to go for the 680's either...

AMD has nearly always engineered good cards. They just don't ahve the driver team like nvidia does.

Hope these won't be priced too differently from normal 7970s. Over here, a 7970 (Sapphire) is $499, compared to an EVGA 680 @ $699. So if this is $550 and beats or equals a 680 it'll be an epic win thumb.gif

Yeah my low skill level caused the cards to artifact and crash on a fresh windows install with latest drivers past said overclocks haha

I just lost the Silicon lottery, but I sold them all for close to what I got them for, only lost $35 from trying 3 of them.

Not bad, especially considering that while the 680's turbo speed is listed as 1058MHz AFAIK pretty much no 680s are boosting anywhere near that low

Tempted to sell my 7950, and put the extra down for one of these GHz 7970's with the new silicon, would love to OC some more, as I'm sitting at 1100/1575 on my 7950 (up from 810/1375 stock, it's an OK overclock).

HD 7950 is 800Mhz Stock. If you OC it is as fast as GTX670.
