URGENT Help Required: black screen of death - Faulty GTX 670?? - Page 2

I was using offset voltage yes although ive had the same CPU overclock for about 6 months now and its been fine until i switched my PSU the other day.

I just updated my motherboard bios and running stock settings at the moment to see how that does.

It's done it again! Gpu at stock settings, memory at stock and CPU overclocked as normal. Changing PSU didn't solve it. Beta nvidia drivers haven't solved it, updating bios hasn't fixed it either. This time it crashed the gpu fans remained at normal speed but the system rebooted with no signal to monitor again.

So the supplier i got it from has generated a returns number for me to return the GPU in exchange for another but i really dont want to do this unless its definatly the graphics card as mine overclocks well and ive heard other stories of people getting cards that dont clock so well atall.

It's your card dude. My first Top crashed in 3DMark and killed the card. Fan was spinning, the 2 lights on the card were on. No signal from the card to monitor at all, yet the onboard graphics worked fine for me. Try using your onboard graphics.

I have a similar problem but it never crashes during normal usage. It's only when I restart/turn ion my PC. I get a signal ALL the way up until Windows launches then I lose the signal and have to restart multiple times till I get it to work.

Never had this sort of problem before.

Ive moved my card to another PCI-E slot and no crashes today yet but yesterday i played all day without issues until late at night!

I really hope it isnt my PCI-E slot as my motherboard is only 6 months old and wasnt exactly cheap frown.gif

If it crashes again im going to try onboard graphics to see if that helps.

When it crashes i also have 2 green lights on my card (they stay on even when pc is turned off!) fans no longer ramping up when it happens the PC just reboots and no signal

No it says because i dont have a paging file on my SSD it wont enable them.

Still all good so far in the second PCI-E slot...if my board is defective i might cry!

EDIT: 2 hours on and still no crashes yet.

OK so a friend of mine suggested installing Team Viewer so that i could connect to the PC when the screen goes blank and this is what i see:

450

No graphics card detected!! Does this indicate a faulty graphics card?

Ive popped in an old 9600GT for now to see if the system crashes with that in but its not exactly a powerful card so its not a very good comparison for possible power issues etc. It does help to see if the PCI-E slot is dying though.

Do you use Asus GPU tweak software to manage your GPU(or any other sofware that includes old version of GPU-Z)? It caused the "RED screen of death" for me.
