Hi everyone here are some of my night photos since i got my solid tripod, i am in the learning process,
this is my second time out at night in miami fl, i have a question for night shots is it better to manual focus? all of my image at night were manual focus i dont know if that was how it was suppose to be done but comparing from my last this results look much cleaner...thanks

Camera in use was the Canon 7D and a solid tripod :-)

HI, your shots look good but would need to see them full size to figure out if really good !, i also use a canon 7d in the uk for night photography, here is what i do

use a tripod (nice to here you have one), find your focus and set your camera then to manual focus on your lens (this is to stop it finding focus later on)
set your camera to mirror lock up (menu c.fn III autofocus/drive under heading 13), this stops camera shake if your shooting a quick shot (normally this does nothing for long exposures but worth mentioning) fire your camera off with a wireless remote....done

small f stop will reduce the star effect from street lights...... nice to see you use the tungsten w/b smile.gif

if you need any more info send us a pm

last thing if you want a photo but can not get focus use a 1600 lumen variable torch to obtain your focus then use above info smile.gif
