Streaming over my network to multiple devices

I am needing help on what would be recommended to use to be able to stream my media and music over my network to my pc/laptops/xbox360/ps3 and android devices? I was thinking of using tversity again but it gave me so many headaches when setting it up on windows 7.

Any suggestions? Most of my media is in 720p/1080p

You could make a media server with linux and a lan/wan router.
