We computing ppd, be sure to use large chunks of the WU (as is shown above) as it is not uncommon for portions of any given WU to progress faster or slower than another portion of that same WU. So, if you base your calcs on 2% or 5% of the WU, your estimate may be way off. Basing things on larger pieces will tend to greatly lessen the potential for goofy estimates.

Hm, alright. Thanks for the heads up.

With going by 20%:
Quote:
[08:38:17] Completed 0 out of 5000000 steps (0 %)
[12:16:49] Completed 1000000 out of 5000000 steps (20 %)
20% = 3h 38m 32s
x 5 = 5h 190m 160s or
18h 10m 40s
In minutes:
1090/1091

24 x 60
1440

1440-1090 =

350 "extra minutes."
587 PPD.

350/1090 =
.3211

587x.3211
~188.5

587 + 188.5 =
775.5/776 PPD.

*edit*
And the A64 included too. I was wondering why my PPD were THAT much of an improvement.
So about 850-900PPD soon hopefully.

but going with 20% still inst acurate.

thats why i plan on compiling several full 100% wu's over the next few days to get a very acurate example.

averaging it over 5 days and bout 8-12 wu's should be very acurate! im starting this in my other thread here http://www.overclock.net/overclock-n...-steroids.html

Ummm, you guys are going to own everybody with the SMP client. I'm trying to get my internet to work with Linux but am having such a hard time

I've tried Ubuntu and it picks up something on eth0, but that's about it.

I'll try openSUSE this weekend.... just hoping that I don't kill my Windows Installation... again. I have the Linux driver for my card but it's in a dumbass tar.gz file.

When you know nothing about Linux it's sure hard to get a grip on things.

Anyways, I'll be following your teams progress carefully. Good job guys

Hey Jimmy.

Whats wrong with the .tar.gz file? I don't know anywhere near that much stuff about Linux, but if you need help or something hit me up with a PM and I can try.

In other news, I upped my C2D up to 285x7. Only 2Ghz, but 200Mhz is 200Mhz.

I must be crazy for changing OS just to get some better folding going.... really all I need is a Celeron or Sempron, not a 3.2GHz E6300 (but I not looking to trade down either )

Yeah, I'm going to try openSUSE this weekend, hopefully it will have the correct drivers and install without too many problems.

This SMP client, at least from a Team competition standpoint, is a BIG thing. 4 average D9xx or X2 xxxx could totally destroy any team who doesn't use SMP.

Looks like the linux gurus have a nice competitive advantage... good stuff.

P.S. Glad to see you're now in a team and going strong... it's lonely in the top 3 lol

Hopefully teams are a little bit slower to catch on with the SMP client.

I think the 3000+ is on the fritz though. Right up 'till 2 days of handing it over to my sister (I used to be able to get 2.85Ghz game stable w/1.65v) I couldn't get it past 2.7Ghz. This morning I had to slow it back down to 2.5Ghz because it kept getting BSOD's. Thought it was the RAM at first but I threw in my RAM to check and it gave BSOD's as well. Seems fine now. If it does go out I'll probably talk her into a X2 3800+ and have it fold the SMP client when she sleeps.

Have it fold for Kopi.

Anyway - good luck with the SMP client.
