I think I'm immune to temp damage.
Had my 3000+ @ 92C for a week when I was on vacation. Nothing wrong, still clocks up at 2.85Ghz stable.
Had my moms P4 @ 73C for the same week when we were on (the same) vacation. Now its CyberD's, and still works perfectly fine. (It was still mine for like a year before selling.)
I installed the HS on my buddies Celeron D (was overheating and shutting off) and it was hanging up by one pin and rotated around. Was at 101C before it shut itself off. Burn mark in the upper right corner where the core is, still works fine.
The whole vacation thing was because I had the computers side by side. My rig was getting BSODs for some reason and I was swapping parts from the rigs to try to see what it was. I had all the fans out including the one on the HS on both rigs.
When we were about to leave I ran Prime95 to check for stability and didn't remember I took the fans off of 'em. Oops.
