Im thinking of getting 2 of the phobya 1080 rad's along with a 360 and 240 for internal. My last loop was fairly small straight forward so I could pretty much figure out everything on my own.

I believe the radiator amount will suffice for the following two goals:

A. 5.0 Ghz i7 930
B. 1Ghz core stable on 3 gtx 470s

Im not sure on how I should set up the pumps or if a larger resovoir would make much difference, I know it doesnt in theory though.

If anyone wants to reference parts then anything US48 would be awesome. I need everything Watercooling save for the gpu blocks, so I need cpu block, radiators,hoses,pumps, and what the heck, a resovoir, im using the switch 810 with four hose inlets.

As for placement of the rads that large I was thinking mounting behind the desk?

That's complete and absolute overkill for what you'll be cooling. I like it.

Anyways, as far as CPU blocks go, I recommend the DT Sniper. It has great cooling and is very low restriction for what I consider a great price. For pumps, I recommend using a dual pump configuration for the large loop you're considering. One example of a good pump setup for you would be the MCP3X2, or really almost any dual serial pump setup. Tubing right now is a bit iffy. While Primochill tubing used to be great, people have had big issues with plasticizer with it lately. Because of this I recommend either ClearFlex 60 or MasterKleer tubing. If you want a great and flashy reservoir and don't mind the price, I recommend anything FrozenQ makes, especially the helix reservoirs. For the Switch 810 case I recommend going with the 160mm size reservoir if you go that route because otherwise you may have space issues. For mounting the 1080 radiators, you could use some Phobya Nova 1080 radiator mounting feet to mount them to a piece of wood or really anything you want outside the case. For the 360 and 240mm radiators, I recommend the Alphacool NexXxoS UT60 in those respective sizes. As far as fittings go, bitspower is a great brand for any kind of fittings in my opinion.

If you're going for a Phobya 1080 rad setup, you'd better start looking for another case, something along the lines of Danger Den or CaseLabs.
Because as far as I can see, your FT03 will be much too small for it.

A single Nova 1080 should be adequate for that, anything above that will not have a large effect on your water delta anymore and your OC capabilities will be determined by the chips even with one Nova 1080, as situation where 0.5 C lower water temperature is determining factor is highly unlikely.

Thanks for the recommendations thus far!

Reason for having two 1080's merely because even though it is a large amount of rad, it has a low fin count, so therefore I can use lower speed quieter fans.

This lead me to desire two of them, one for each side of the desk and naturally I have some rad for inside the computer as well. I currently dont have a desk suitable for this and would like to get a replacement (right now im on a night stand table with my g53 since the break up with the ex, hence why im blowing money on my computer lol.

This case I currently have is a NZXT switch 810, not large enough for internal fitting obviously, but I never intended for internal fittings on this one.

Anyways, one concern I have for the pump is will it have enough flow to carry it through all the tubing? Im thinking this may be over 8 feet in length at least, going from one side of the desk to the other, then through the case, rads, blocks etc

Which fans would suit this build? I was looking at the Gentle Typhoon 1350 rpm but those are about 15 each, thats over 400 in fans lol. Whats the best second choice? and is there any better pricing on the GT's?

While that makes sense just remember you are gonna need multiple high flow pumps if you really want to do this. It sounds like a major loop for sure. Might want to branch it off into 2 separate loops. Like one loop with one of the 1080s for the cpu and the other for the 470s.

I don't have any experience over my 280mm rad, so I am no expert. I am gonna guess though that even with a low fin count you could probably get away with one of those 1080s with low fan rpms while still getting pretty good temps. Especially if you plan on putting other rads in the loop in your case.

Also stupid question but I gotta ask. Are you sure those 470s can hit 1ghz? I realize some 470s can but I am talking about YOUR 470s. Might suck to spend all that time to WC them only to realize one or more of the gpus are the limiting factor :/

I know ill be able to do 900 for sure, but while Im going through all this effort I want to go ahead and push for 1ghz and see what kind of benches I can get

If you going to use 2x 1080's then 1350 rpm is a bit too high, I would suggest looking for some 800 rpm ones and then dropping them to approx 400 rpm. 2x 1080 is sort of good enough even for going passive.

If you have a bit extra funds you can order alternative fan grill for 180mm fans and use instead 4x 180 mm per radiator. For example, Aquatuning.de has (it should have US site as well) usually 4x180mm fan bundles available.

I personally got 9x120 mm 1200 rpm ones for approx 25 euros from Aquatuning by picking something more or less reasonable off the Aquatuning discount section. A bit louder than I expected at 1200 rpm, but as their starting voltage is only 4V then I should be able to bring it down to somewhere around 500.

Mine is still work in progress so well see how it goes performance wise. I do expect single 1080 to be quite an overkill for my system.

Its more for the purpose of higher cooling as opposed to reaching near passive decibels.

Having largely more air builds and having had fermi's in the past noise is not something Im too concerned about
