wha-smiley.png Well that seam legit. I'll keep that in mind and review my fan profile tonight. I admit that I didn't took a lot of time to tweak that because I was more focused on the oc settings wheee.gif

So not only does MSI release a card with advertisement all over it of triple voltage control, they release it without software to control it. rolleyes.gif Looks like the card even lacks a voltage controller that has software control ability.

From the TPU review of this card:
Quote:
MSI uses use a Richtek RT8802A voltage controller on their card, just like the reference design. This is a fairly simple controller which does not offer any monitoring features or software voltage control. Voltages are controlled via VID pins that are directly connected to the GPU.

Source

Wonder what the deal is? This card is using the same method to control voltage that all the reference, locked voltage card do, in hardware with no software capability. I thought about buying two mad.gif

Yeah? Unwinder said to expect it in the next release up to 1.3 for the 670pe. I'd take his word if he says it. He helps develop afterburner along with some engineers at MSI.... He is the original author of afterburner.

1.3V isn't too far out of spec for the reference VRM, i'm sure they could get it to work.

Also, in this video the MSI rep states that they removed the voltage VID pins from the 670PE:

That still doesn't mean that voltage control isn't possible. I'm sure that they put some thought into this beforehand.

Got my two cards today, got them running at +75 Core and +400 memory @ 1.175. I've looped Heaven twice to start and will play some BF3 here shortly.

*edit* only can get stable @ +75 which equates to 1264MHZ in Heaven

techPowerUp's method of determining how well Keplers overclock is laughable. They only look at base clock, not the actual clock speed while at load.

HardOCP / guru 3d are the only sites i've found that actually puts effort into overclocking their cards for review. Techpowerup doesn't even seem to try very hard for overclocks, you can see it across a wide range of their reviews. They probably rush through it to meet deadlines.
