Twin Frorzr is loud especially at high temp/speed, so if you are concerned about noise and especially if you have a case with loads of fan openings keep away from MSI.

It's loud when it first starts up, but after that it's really not that bad. Slightly louder than the ASUS DCII GTX 670, but IMO it cools a little better so you can run it at a lower fan setting. I wouldn't let the noise issue scare you away from getting one of these.

Agreed, i don't find the N670 PE to be loud. fan speed never ramps up higher than 64% during heavy gaming. Anything below 55% fan speed is absolutely silent. Most of the time when browsing the web, using photoshop, whatever, the fan is around 46%.

However, I notice in this thread people tend to set their voltage in the range of +30 to +40. Why is that?
Also, when should we run the overclock settings? Once windows starts or only when we play games?
Sorry for my noob questions! Thanks in advance biggrin.gif
i only run my OC settings when i'm gaming and i NEED more power to get an acceptable framerate... otherwise i run it at it's factory settings. OC'ing and especially adding voltage, can reduce the lifespan of the GPU.

I'm throwing in the towel and accepting defeat. It's time for me to significantly reduce the OC and settle into playing some games. Crysis 1 here i come! Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Don't worry, mine throttles a lot to, I just think I had a lucky run that day (stable of course)
You still have a golden card as well, those are impressive results thumb.gif

Absolutly. you shoud add voltageonly when you feel like you are gonna gaming or when you want to benchmark.

Since the Kepler based cards throttle voltage (and core and mem for the matter) when not under load, why change the voltage settings? Max it to the edge of instability and enjoy! I do have a separate setting for 3DMark11 since I give MOAR core clock there than in Heaven.

I bet my card would last equally as long under the same usage.

I just got my 670 PE and it will go up to 1300 mhz core stable, but if I up the voltage it does absolutely nothing. I guess the triple overvoltage is a lie? I even hooked up a voltage meter to the card and it did not go higher than 1.175mV.

You my friend might have the new bios that nvida is enforcing , if so you are going to have to re-flash it.

Also, do you have the version 2.2.3 of afterburner?
