I'm with you there. So in the spirit of speculation, what do you personally think the description "- Triple Overvoltage: adjust the voltage of GPU, memory and PLL to unleash the potential of graphics card." means, and how do you think it could be implemented?

I don't understand people complaining about the noise of the cards... Do you play with a sleeping baby in the room? The only thing i see that it might be a problem is if you leave you computer on all day and all night and try to go to sleep with it right next to you. Which I don't recommend if your the one the has to pay for the electricity in your house hold I just put it in sleep mode when I go to sleep or leave the house or I simply turn it off. If you play games with the sound enabled then there should not be a problem. Am I missing something?

Some people just like peace and quite. I turn my computer off when I sleep, but when I'm just browsing around on the internet reading articles, or just relaxing and don't feel like turning my computer off I'd rather have it silent in my room. To each his own though.

If silence wasn't important to a large number of people then the NF-F12's and NF-P12's wouldn't sell as well as they do.

I tend to agree that the triple overvolt won't do anything specific, you'd think MSI would have mentioned that specifically just like ASUS did with their 680 (even if that was a hardmod). There's nothing here

http://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=150708.0

But there's another possibility with the LN2 BIOS switch, there's really no point for that unless the volts are higher for that..

Thread Starter
it looks like newegg sold 40+ of these cards over the weekend....I'm just going by what I see in the inventory

so hopefully we get some reviews up and running soon! if it's true that you can software over volt these...and they perform excellent....i really don't see a need for the 680 lightning.....unless you're going for extreme benching

For whoever asked, Newegg updated their pictures and now show one from the side opposite the PCI connector (EDIT - I must have read that someone wanted to see it from the side in another thread .. ah well here it is anyways) ...

Not that I've seen. Mine is expected to arrive tomorrow, but I won't be able to get it home, installed and start testing until after work (west coast time zone).

Haha I hear you. Although, I highly doubt it will be "bad", based on past Power Edition models. It certainly can have some unknown negatives compared to the alternatives though. We shall know soon. Although, you know by the time you decide you want it it'll be out of stock don't you? biggrin.gif

Anyhoo, I've had a Gigabyte GTX670 in my machine for about a month, so I'll be able to post up a direct review comparing it to one of the better custom GTX670s from an end user's perspective. Things like heat, noise, stock and custom boost clocks and power consumption will all be compared between the two. I'll also be able to confirm/deny the speculation regarding overvolting, if someone doesn't get to it first.

Tomorrow night! thumb.gif

Ahhh it's killing me, I might just go ahead and pull the trigger on the whole build.
I have every part ready to order @.@ Yea I doubt it'll be bad too because of the 560TI Hawk edition was good with the TwinFrozr II cooler. (Not that I had it before, just from reading about it)

Not to mention, this card looks really nice and clean. It is also has a blue/black look, my build will be white/blue so it'll look perfect in there. (White Switch 810)

I'll think about it some more and prob buy everything tonight smile.gif
