I know there is a lot of people with this issue on the web. MSI EN forum has a lots of unresolved topics about this, but it's mainly only user-to-user forum so no wonder.

I'll let you know, if I get some info about this. Hopefully there is some solution for this.

Are you able to get a hold of a newer bios from the newer cards and try that?
I bought my cards a month ago and have BIOS version 80.04.31.00.46

Let me know if you want it.

Do you have a problem with your card using those BIOS? Especially with a Power Limit issue? Because your BIOS is same as mine...

I ask this because I never got a problem with my card though, sometimes I think that I need more "power" to keep my card core clock constant (when I OC to 1293 Mhz, sometimes my card will downlock the core due to a lack of power limit, always reach 113-115%), but I've seen most of people got this issue. (maybe MSI has changed the design on their PE card?).

My card isn't old too. I Bought it only two weeks ago.
I tried 3 versions:
80.04.19.00.04
80.04.31.00.46
80.04.4B.00.47
Didn't work.

You need to use a non-official BIOS. This BIOS is from a galaxy card, but has been modified to work with the 670 Power Edition. Keep in mind, that the fan profile is broken and you will NEED to set up a custom fan profile (otherwise you will push your card into the 90'es)

gc670pe.zip 56k .zip file

But once again, this is NOT an official BIOS. I can not guarentee for the result, but it DOES solve the 104% power throttle issue.

"... In other cases, MSI’s circuit trick can trigger a black screen or cause a driver crash when a change of load occurs..." This is my exact issue. black screen, freeze and driver crash according to event viewer

Card is going back to supplier. I read that all the newer ones are no longer overvolted. Does anyone know how I can identify that specific revision of the card that is no longer overvolted?

Supplier concluded that my card is faulty. Only issue is that they don't have stock to swap. ETA is 3 to 5 days from diagnosis. This means no PC at home for a week or so, the weekend being the biggest issue for me. Man this sucks!

I future, I am sticking to Asus cards. Yes they are more expensive around here but at least in the event of problems, I can take it to their offices in my country directly (around the corner from where I work), without the need to go through the painful and slow distributor channel. If Asus here does not have swapout stock, they credit the supplier directly, which means I get credited as well to take another one from the distributor or something else then should I choose to do so or in the event of no stock at distributor as well

I mentioned that I already used this Galaxy bios just for curiosity and it worked well. It will be my last option, but before that I want to know MSI's opinion on that and why official bios not work as intended. The report was sent with 4 bios versions attached. I already have icq contact on guy from company and will help.

Temp was not so bad, because I have custom fan profile from the day one, 75°C max.

It is the only solution at the moment. MSI has not given any information on this issue. It is very sad, since this is potentially one of the best cards currently available.
