Yea I gave it some though last night I'm trying to decide if I want to re-seat the cooler. the card is about 5 months old now and I figured they would do nothing. think it would be worth a try? I'm also thinking of getting a hold of a blower style cooler from a 680. I know it sort of defeats part of the awesomeness of this card, but it might help with the temps by pushing the heat right out of the back of the case.

Is your card OCed? I run mine a 1250 core and 3604 mem with temps maxing @ 65c after 30 mins of Heaven 4.0 bench. This is with a custom BIOS with higher volts and an aggressive, but quiet fan profile.

MSI will not do anything with your card unless it is running over 95c or 98c. Its 5 months old has your card always run this hot?

A blower style will not help your temps, it will increase your temps most likely. I do not think the blower cooler will work because the PE are not reference cards. Maybe try a custom fan profile like the one HERE (scroll down a bit). Its not loud at all, I run my fans more aggressive then that and do not hear the fans when I'm gaming over the sound effects.

You can also change the TIM, it could drop your temps up to 10c.

I think I might end up flipping the front 92mm fans around and have them exhaust some heat out and see if that helps at all.

No I keep it at the stock clocks, I know it boosts itself up to like 1227 or so for the core clocks. The card has always been a bit warm, but I always thought it was because of sitting vertical in my raven case. it never bothered me, and the temps were never dangerous. I just turned down some setting in games to keep things cooler.

I'm thinking I might void the warranty and apply some new thermal paste.

I have a quick question, I'm looking at picking up one of these cards but before I do I wanted to double check some things. From what I undertand, even these cards are locked voltage-wise, however they can be unlocked with a bios flash. If so, what is the best bios to use and do would I have to use AB 2.2.3? I'm also looking to eventually swap the cooler for an H50 or Antec 620 to keep it from throttling.

Basically, is it still possible to OC+overvolt (beyond the standard 1.175v) these things? If not, what are some other options brand-wise.

I'm getting my 670 PE / OC tomorrow hopefully.
it's shipping status changed so it should be here in max 2-3 days.

I got a extremely well ventilated Phantom 820.

I'll post my temp results with default settings on idle & load.
and i'll try to OC it a bit with Afterburner & post the temps.

I live @ the netherlands & my ambient temps are pretty low.
Wish me goodluck on getting a good card that isn't faulty =P

If you have a bios that works great with this card without any problems, please PM me or post it here! Thankyou =]

I don't know if this is common knowledge or not but there is a waterblock available for this card. Had I known that I probably would have gone with a pair of these. It looks like a hot block too. Its made by a German water block manufacturer called "liquid extasy".

There isn't much of a difference clock for clock between GTX670 and 680.
