Notice the lower card (slave) has a "G" at the end of the top number, it also had a lighter blue/turquoise LED .

Anyone know what this "G" means?
the G means the card was originally bundled with a game, more than likely BL2 when it first came out.
that's all it means, also you can assume the non-G is probably the newer model..

hi all,

Is it possible to get core V to 1,215 using AB or precision and without BIOS flash?

I wasn’t aware that by default V goes to 1,175 and moving the core V slider in AB doesn’t do nothing .

These are my default settings:
clock speed: 1020
boost clock: 1097
kepler boost: 130
max boost freq: 1228

I’m using AB v2.2.5 currently after I tried v2.2.3 in which my core V wasn’t detected.

If, the BIOS upgrade is the only option which one should I get? I’m trying to get that 1.215V on the core so I get my max OC based on that. I’m not going above that.

Thanks.

Just a heads up/tip for you all: you CAN adjust the voltage on the 670 PE via AfterBurner, and higher than other brand cards can even via BIOS flash! (other brands are limited to nVidia's 1.2125V). I JUST bought a 670 PE from NewEgg, so it has nothing to do with whether your card is old or new.

Download MSI AB v2.2.3, and go to C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner\Profiles, and open up the VEN_..... .cfg file

Add these lines at the very top:
[Settings]
VDDC_Generic_Detection = 0
VDDC_uP6262_Detection = 4:30h
VDDC_uP6262_R1 = 1000

Save, and make sure AB has its compatibility settings all checked (unlock voltage control, force constant, etc.).

Now, software readers like GPU-Z will NOT detect the rise in voltage because MSI applies the voltage in a different way. But, you can tell it's working if you look at the power% log. You will see that when you adjust the voltage the power% will go up. Also, you'll see that you can achieve a higher stable core clock. Ex: mine is boost stable at 1215 w/ no voltage adjustment, but with +40mV in AB, I'm stable at 1267. No BIOS flash, only using AB.

Cool, will try this. I wonder if it also works on a flashed BIOS to push it higher? Have to see.
