Rad fans direction?

SO! This is my set up right now:

I currently have the fans on the rad exhausting air up out of the case. I also have that 200mm fan up top exhausting air upwards, so basically the rads are getting the warm air from the inside.

Should I flip the fans on the rad, to have them pulling cool un-recycled air? Then get rid of the 200mm fan up top or flip it to also be an intake?

I'm mostly worried about the temps of my vid cards at that point though. Since I guess I would probably not be exhausting enough air? (BTW, I just switched to 2x7970s, so those are not the cards I actually have in my system.)

EDIT: To anyone who is curious about it. Depending on your set up... it could work... but in mine it did not. I switched the things around as I mentioned below in the thread and got temperatures of +5C to +10C. I was at around 61C load on my GPUs... with the switch, they hit 80. Maybe it's beneficial if you have only water running to everything and your GPU is not dependent on exhausting air.

Otherwise... BAD IDEA! thumb.gif

I really wouldn't worry about it. If you flip the 230mm top fan, then you'll just have the fans opposing eachother creating resistance.

BTW, you do know that a 360mm radiator is mountable from the inside of your case with only a couple of screws? It would look much more appealing and you'd use 2 feet lees of tubing tongue.gif

Two options I see:

1) I can't see the top of the image so I can't see if it's a push/pull config or not, but anyway, if it's not, get three more fans for a push/pull config.
2) Get a 360mm Rad mount, and mount it where the 120mm custom-installed front fan is. I don't know if it'll fit with your GPUs, though.
3) Radiators are meant to dissipate heat. So are fans, so you could just do as Buska suggests and not worry too much about it.

... so there wouldn't be a huge difference in temps if I flipped my fans to take in air from the top of the rad and push it into the case? I've been told several times that a push/pull won't make a difference with this rad. So I won't bother with that.

At most a couple of degrees, exceptionally. Maybe usually, a max of 1°C decreased temperature could be noticed, but not much more than that, I would say.

I guess.... I will try it out today. I will use 3D Marks Vantage, 11 and unigine heaven. I'll do 3 runs of each and see what temps I get with how it is set up right now. Then I will flip the fans to the top part of the rad and flip the 200mm fan and have it push air down into the case from the rads.

I'll maintain temp for the room at the same for both runs.thumb.gif
