I can't decide which to buy noctua or thermalright on my lga 775 i used a thermalright and it was perfect. Which do you think i should buy for my new 3930k @ 4.5 ghz. I will want my pc to be turned on at least 10 hours on room with no ac at about 30 celcius. Im using cosmos 2 with full fans and asus rampage 4 extreme . Give me some reasons on what i should buy.

Any reason you wouldn't want to go with a liquid solution? Especially with such a high ambient.

I have done allot of research into these coolers as I want to buy a high end air cooler like you in the future. I personally prefer the Noctua NH-D14. The general idea I get from what I have read is that the silver arrow might get you better temps by 1-2 degrees but the NH-D14 is better built and easier to install. Whichever one you go with though they are both the top air coolers.

Im a kid and my dad doesn't allow liquid cooling he is afraid his expensive setup soaked by water. And also here in my country best liquid collet is only a h100 corsair

Then I would definitely get the H100, lol. Don't have to worry about leaks and if there is one (there wont be) corsairs warranty covers all damage, including replacing hardware.

Its interesting about the noctua and the higher clocks thing I have heard similar too. I am half considering liquid cooling but I think for the price and risk im going to go with a nh-d14 ad there is 0 change of a leak. the nh-d14 will outperform most pre-made liquid coolers and be about the same as a H100.

Edit: as deafboy said the H100 is very unlikely to leak

I know it muddies the water but Phanteks PH-TC14PE is right up there with D14 and SA

The phanteks is also a great cooler which in some cases will outperform the nh-d14 and SA. The NH-D14 pulls ahead at really high clocks and heat though. IMO the phanteks is slightly overpriced too. The NH-D14, SA and phanteks are all really quiet coolers btw.

But take in mind h100 is way better when u change the stock fans . But unless ur an extreme overclocker stick with air. Noctua will be almost as good as h100 that is pure just for processor. But noctua will win against stockk h100 that cool vga , memory , and pro cessor. Unless u have a big casing like me which fits 3 radiator when modded or 2 without mod.
