Thermaltake Frio disappointing

I bought the Frio and Noctua NT-H1 to replacement my 212 Evo, and V1 Thermal Paste. Before I had idle temps of 24 degrees with 2 CM Blue 19DB/90CFM fans, and now with the stock fans with my Frio I only get 18 degrees on idle, I expected more like 15 degrees.

I am quite disappointed although I am not sure whether it could be my application of the thermal paste as I didn't move around the heatsink to spread it like the instructions said, I just put it on top of the cpu.
The ambient is around 15 degrees, So are these normal temps for a Frio with an X6@3.6GHZ?
Also will custom fans cool it further?

Wait, ambient temp is 15c and idle is 18c? What exactly are you hoping for, a CPU that cools your room?

(yeah, check load temps and come back if anything is wrong with them)

the TT frio is one of the best air cooling solution out there.. (for the prize) those idle temps are crazy low (18 c° ) .. do some stress cpu test and post your results..

lol i'm in Aus so In Summer it can go up to 40C , yeah I was wrong in most games it never goes past 26C, I'm stress gonna test it now.

It's at 36-38 max load Prime 95, with In-place Large FFT's. I'm quite happy with 38 maxed, although in games it'll never be as high . Case Closed thumb.gif

I already know the limits of my 1090T it can manage 3.8, but at 4 it works perfectly fine in every app even for extended periods, but prime chucks up an error. I took the voltage up to 1.475, but the error still occurs, and past 1.475 is just not viable long term.
