Newegg and tiger direct only have one on there list, and it seems to me that a phenom x6 would be better then a FX 6 core [maybe be I'm wrong] not to mention the one operates at 2.7Ghz. So I was just wondering if AMD still made these or not and If they don't why not?

I actually think they discontinued them. I think, hopefully someone can confirm if they are or not.
They're (AMD) trying to push the FX chips seeing as they're the new market chips, so having the PII's around would hurt business. Especially if the previous gen was quicker than the new chips.

It's not necessarily a bad thing. The PII's may be a little quicker than the FX chips, but at the price point its a good buy.
Look at it this way:
- 1090T a couple months after launch was around the $200 mark. Six cores @ 3.3ghz (3.7 Turbo core).
- 8150 a couple months after launch is $200. Eight cores @ 3.6ghz (4.2ghz Turbo core).
So considering you get 2 more cores for the same price as a 1090T was, its not a bad deal. Hopefully AMD goes the same route as the Phenom chips. The first gen Phenoms were.... okay at best. The Phenom II's were just beasts and improved in every aspect.
Hopefully the FX is just in its "Phenom I" stage and the "FX II" (or whatever name) will greatly improve.

phenoms II x6 [unless im mistaken] have 6 real cores.
the FX-8xxx have 4 cores and 8 threads. making them better for multi-threading but, I dont realy use multi thread much.

Exactly, the FX chips are now worth every penny.
I waited my self for price drop and to be honest,
the FX 8150 i bought is a beast and is way better than the credit it got in the begging of its entry.
15 years building systems (no i,m not a tech) but love doing it.
I have 4 systems, 720 be-955be-1090tbe and now my fx8150.
Dont beleive all the original bench and reveiws.
If you want to be amazed just buy one it is no regret in real world use!!!
And MUCH better than what was beleived.
And the second gen? well i cant wait!!
So realy no need for AMD to keep makeing PII chips.

This is all very wrong. Phenom II X6's have 6 cores. FX 81XX have 8 cores, they are composed of 4 "modules" which have 2 cores in each one.... it's just the architecture.

If you investigate the inside of the X6's (at least the 1100T), they have six physical cores.

And yes, the X6's have been phased out.

Oh i wasnt saying you were saying that at all.
And yes i love my 1090t!
I guess after waiting and than buying, i see now all the B.S. in the start of FX release was mostly just that.
But ya a lot i guees figured it was going to change the world-lol. I think AMD is on the right path.
