I don't understand the obsession with boards not having, and borderline hatred in some cases (I've actually seen someone say they won't tolerate a board with it), the number pad on the right. Do people like having a less functional keyboard? Is it a space issue? Would appreciate an explanation.
For me, the numpad is in an awkward place on the right side of the keyboard, so I prefer to use a 10keyless with a separate numpad (which I keep on the left of the keyboard). And yeah, it's cool to have a keyboard with smaller footprint.
for me it saves a lot of space, my desk doesn't have much space as it is, and getting rid of the number pad gives me more space to move the mouse around the desk.
I very rarely used the number pad, and I haven't missed it, I don't do any tasks that benefit from a dedicated number pad.
I also find a smaller keyboard looks a lot smarter on my desk than an over sized keyboard.
I've been tempted to try a 10 keyless mechanical. Has anybody found a 10 keyless mechanical that allows you to swap the 10 key to the left side of the keyboard like the Sidewinder X6 does? That would be ideal IMO.
I'd rather have a matching 10 key, mismatched peripherals bother me.

Like mentioned, it's a space and ergonomics thing. I still like having my numpad though because I type numbers so much, even though I'm not an accountant by any means.
I really wish there was a mech kb with the num pad on the left side of the board. it makes way more sense to me, especially using excel. right on the mouse/arrow keys and left hand for imputing numbers.

I prefer to have the number pad but for ergonomic reasons at home when I game and space issues at work when I work...I love the smaller footprint. Though I do break out my old Logitech wireless when I have to enter a lot of data. Since I use a unifying receiver I just power it on and go. So it's almost like I have a separate number pad.
I agree its all personal preference.
I have a G11, and I its massive with the extra 18 gkeys, (which I which I could cut off cause I never use them lol)
but I honestly couldn't live without the numpad, I use it far to often, and its way faster than trying to use the regular numbers row.
