GTX 260 to GTX 670

Thread Starter
I currently have an Inte i7 920 OC to 3.450ghz, 6 gigs of Corsair dominator Ram, Asus P6t deluxe v2 X58 board, and Evga GTX 260 Video Card.

Now i play games like Call of Duty and Sniper but would like to be able to play some of the newer games coming out as well. Am i going to see a huge difference in detail while playing games from upgrading. Will it make playing games that much better. I want to be able to feel good about making this purchase and would like the ones who own the card or know more about video cards to let me know if this upgrade is worth it?

That is a massive upgrade! you will be able to max out any game on the market.

You should see a pretty big boost in performance going from a 260 to a 670 the 920 should handle it fine.

well cod doesnt take a good computer at all ( my old 8800 gts 512 could max it on a 1680x1080 no problem. ( I dont know for sniper )

But upgrading to a 670 will make a difference no doubt.

For the new game a 670 will have no problem running any of them, you cant go wrong with it ( awsome bang for the buck ) If you want to spend less , the 7850 is also really good for the price

A 670 is more than 4x a 260, enjoy!smile.gif

Yeah i have always bought Nvidia so not sure about switching sides to Radeon because i just don't know enough about them. Also i see that the 670's are PCI-e 3.0. Does it matter that my current motherboard only supports PCI-e 2.0? And will i see a big difference? between 2.0 and 3.0?
you will not see any difference between 2.0 and 3.0. However the jump from a 260 to a 670 will be amazing for you. What resolution are you playing at?

A GTX 670 will max out any game at 1920x1200.
