The MSI card will have better components for sure. The lightning version uses surface mounted caps, and DR Mosfets even the reference

It seems that although the ASUS direct CUII GTX 680 has been reviewed a few times, no one who has taken the cooler off has mentioned that it uses (what looks like) old school 3 part mosfet. Im sure it works fine, but even the reference cards use the low RDS on mosfet design.

However when posr consumption is tested the ASUS card seems to do well, which is confusing.

Anyhow, Id say that the MSI card will have better parts for sure. But both are sweet cards.

Per tomshardware the 2gb version of the lightning will cost...

549.99!!!!

Seriously can't wait to see what this bad boy can do! Supposed to be released this month too!

ehhh. i find it hard to believe that this card will be same price as a 7970 lightning.

Not a surprise this 680 Lightning would be replacing ref 680 at the same price tag

Not a fan of the colors though. I have had a blue theme in my cases since I started building, and currently rocking 2 lightning xtremes, so blue is my color. Seems like its going to be yellow on the lightnings from now on. But I suppose I could repaint the yellow strips myself.

Wait for this ! I will do, i really hope i will wait 1.5 months, for this to be available in my country. If the card will be available for sale in america or some big countries in europe i need to wait a couple more weeks for the card to ship in my country too.

How comes MSI uses the best components on their Graphics Cards yet they basically have some of the lowest warranty on them? I suppose it's mostly enthusiasts who will purchase them which are the type of people to upgrade fairly often, but a 3 year warranty with 2 years covering parts doesn't sound very appealing.

By the way, I have a GTX 560 Ti Hawk and it is so awesome and gorgeous, I wish I could hang it outside my case with a riser card just for show. I love it.
