Not only does the software show the voltage being taken by the card and report it in the On screan display under load but there is an increase in the OC ability
card one was crashing at 1300 instantly without the LN2 and could pass for 30 min (never crashed I just stopped the test) with the LN2 but then crashed at about 1320 ... which indicates strongly that there is more voltage going to the chip
Unless of course there is more current draw allowed or some other difference in the BIOS
I have not yet tested this on card 2

I wasn't disputing any of that, I stated that definitive results will be some time from now since we don't get fully unlocked voltage yet.

The LN2 BIOS allows a little more lenancy when it comes to errors. It'll let the card get pushed further before determining whether or not to reset the drivers. I believe 1.21 is showing up I just believe its still the 1.21 that shows up for all the 680's around which under the normal monitor is displayed as 1.175

Well that makes sense , we will need to wait for definitive answers.

thanks for the info on the LN2 BIOS... this is the first time I have used one LOL

so far card 2 is going strong at 1320mhz (do not want to jinx it) I will see how high it goes ... if I get to 1350 I will be ecstatic!!!

card 1 is at best a worse chip and at worst a defective chip/board

once I see how far I can get card 2 core ( and a quick memory OC as well) I will get card 1 back and see if an RMA is in order ...

EXCITING STUFF biggrin.gifthumb.gif

I have a multimeter coming tomorrow, can't wait to see what my cards can do. 1300 without the updated afterburner is pretty darn good IMO.

Hello Guys,

Watching your results. The overclocks look like you are at the stock voltage. I have a Galaxy GTX680 SOC and I am hitting 1303 core and 7000 effective on the memory at 1.175V. Tried 1320 core, but freeze/crash like you. I am watching you all very close as I would prefer the lightning with adjustable Vcore.

Did one of you have overclocking numbers for a single card? As we know, in SLI/Crossfire overclocking is reduced somewhat.

Thanks....

Everything I've talked to with galaxy about our cards say we will see vcore too. The 680 soc and lightning use the same chip for that feature. I'll be curious to see what happens. I'd like to hit 1400, I'm not far as it is. Btw Xtreme tuner plus was updated, no core voltage increase but memory now overvolts. Ran 7200 but noticed some bad render retainment (artifacts) so I turned it down. Passed over 12,100 graphics score though wooh

ok so card 2 seems to top out around 1325 at stock voltage

it is currently running a test at 1332 in the LN2 BIOS

another thing about the LN2 BIOS is the speed boos you set is exactly what you get...

what I mean is with card 1 in the normal BIOS if I run on stock I get almost exactly the 1176 promised and as I raise the boost I get numbers both higher and lower than that ...

with card 2 I get default clocks of almost 1250 boost and adding 50 to the boost gets me to 1300

but with the LN2 we start at a little over 1100 and if I add plus 100 in the boost it gives me exactly plus 100 regardless of which card

I have yet to touch memory ...

Thanks for the info. Wondering if the lightning's temp will be better. Like the backplate . Im sure you noticed, when the core temp hit's 70C the GPU freq. drop ~15Mhz

Cmon guys (and msi... hurry up with afterburner already), give me some good news.

You have no idea how much I'm itching to replace my GTX295, but I'm not doing so until I know I have something actually worth putting under water (full coverage block wouldn't hurt either).

Supermi,

Can you do a single card overclock? Possible you can go slightly higher. (for us single card users smile.gif

With some voltage I can see 1350 core if temps are in check...
