Just saying, but you would see a bigger improvement with the some or less money invested into storage media, unless of course you encode video or something that your i5 would actually bottleneck you at.

Awsome CPU. I didnt want to throw down $1K, so compromised on the 3930K at $600. Still expensive, but oh so powerful. With the X and the right cooling you can very well hit 5Ghz.

Im sure you already know, PCIe 3.0 functions fine (SBe processors) with both 7970's and the GTX680's, just make sure and download the PCIe 3.0 patch that was just released from Nvidia.

I just saw storage. No clue what he meant at first (read it fast and drinking) biggrin.gif

But yeah I'm sure I'll need to upgrade the 2500k soon. Some games, like BF3 for example, already put a 80%+ load on it @ 4.5Ghz. So I wanna do something with it soon.

Add me to the club! I was able to pull 1324 Mhz Core and 7100 on the memory... this card is an absolute beast! 12181 GPU in 3dm11 (http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3818301.) But in heaven its only stable at 1296 but still gets 60.5 fps. Doesn't matter though because AB 2.3, + uni. GPU block =>1400Mhz!!!!!! thumbsupsmiley.png

Hi guys,

Just wonder if the TF4 cooler such as the one in the Lightning would work normally in a vertical-mounting chassis, e.g. RV02-E, would it cause overheating? Basically it's a matter of how the heat pipes are oriented.

Thanks!
