Two pumps and one loop or two loops ?

Hi.

I'm planning a build in the lovely switch 810.

This is what I'm planning to buy and cool:


1x 420 rad from coolgate - 60 mm thick

1x 240 rad from coolgate - 60 mm thick

1x intel 3770 K

1x Asus gtx 680 slightly overclocked


I can't decide if I should get the Koolance dual bay for either 2 DDC pumps, or two D5 pups and run them in seriell

OR


Get one D5 with bitspower top, and a tube res

OR
tubes res with ONE MCP35X

- WHat would be sufficient for this loop ?

- Should I have this in 2 loops or one big one ?

- Are one of the pumps I've mentioned powerful enough ?

Appreciate all help I can get since im quite new to the WC world.

Just a single loop would work fine. You really only need a single D5 or MCP35X to run a loop that size. My loop is the same size and I'm running it on a single D5 set on 4.

Agreed; one loop, one pump for that setup. Either the 35x or the D5 will be sufficient.

The only reason you might want to consider 2 pumps is for redundancy - if one pump fails the other will keep the loop running. However pumps, in my experience, are pretty reliable and the worst that happens if they fail is that the CPU hits thermal shut down and turns off the computer.

I think I'll go for a mcp5x

I've seen some ppl use this http://techbay.no/product.html/bitspower-gjengekonverter-1/4bsp?category_id=98 to connect the pump directly to the reservoir , is tht OK ?

Because then ill just let the pump "hang" to the reservoir wich is this one http://techbay.no/product.html/bitspower-vanntank-z-multi-150?category_id=159

That should be fine. I have seen a few people do that too.

The only issue I can think of is transferring vibrations from the pump to the res - it might make it harder to reduce the noise.

IF you got the Brand new Swiftech wouldn't that do it? The pump is RIGHT on the block and you would not need a pump in the reservoir.
That was the way I was planning to go since ALL i want to do is cool the cpu...

Me personally, I don't trust this. I trust Swiftech (because I have the Swiftech Apogee HD) but not this.

Me personally, I don't trust this. I trust Swiftech (because I have the Swiftech Apogee HD) but not this.
