[LR] Corsair Announces World’s Most Advanced PC Power Supply - AX1200i Digital ATX PSU - Page 12

If this is still a Flextronic unit i wouldn't touch it, i bought an AX1200, had to RMA it for coil whine, the second new one i received had coil whine too, so i just said stuff this, and got a refund, and got myself a Seasonix XP-1000 platnium, best move ever.

3 days in a row of removing and re-installing a power supply, screw doing that again.

Quad 680s and an overclocked X79 would still be around 1000W - 580s would be higher.

Most people don't need 1200W. Hell, most people don't need 700W, 8GB+ of RAM, a Core i7 3770K OC'd to 4.8 GHz, etc. This is a hobby about building the system you want to build, not the system that's "good enough", right? I'd never try and claim you need 1200W. But if somebody's going to buy a 1200W PSU, I'd like to give them an option to buy the best one possible.

This will go nice with my new rig.
as i want to make it more silent/quite the fanless up to 40% will be good when i am just on the net. or got the music on.
color scheme is good too. plays nice with the ROG boards.

This thing is built in China right, so please tell me what premium i'll be paying to buy this from my home in Shanghai, over... what Americans will be paying for it.

Isn't that the AX's main selling point? Near fanless/quiet operation?

I was surprised that it could operate without the fan, but i still knew about it on purchase as it was one of the first "Features" they mentioned.
