How to get rid of vingo?

My home button on the sgs 2 is pooping out due to an accident of mine and I hate how hitting the button sometimes brings me to the voice input command thing powered by vingo. I absolutely dispise it. I want it off the phone. How do I disable it for good? I hate having to hear 'what would you like to do?' In the middle of class or work. I swear, these voice command things are just an annoyance.

If your rooted you can install something like titanium backup and either freeze it or uninstall it.

yup, only way to get rid of stock apps (annoying) like that is to be rooted. Titanium backup is also my preference, but there are tons of other ways to go about it, but all are limited to being rooted.

You can go back to stock without a hitch.
If you're concerned about it, head over to XDA developers and do some research.
I did see a thread over there that mentioned Go Launcher (which you don't need root to install) will allow you to uninstall system apps but that was for the latest version of android so that method may not work on your device.

yeah, android 4.x has the option to remove some stock apps without being rooted. all previous versions do not have that feature..
