Question about Delidding i5 3570k

Thread Starter
I have a quick question about delidding my i5 3570k. I would like to delid and apply liquid pro ultra and reseat the ihs. Since I have never worked with this material before, my question is, am I suppose to apply it and let it cure and then put the ihs back on(sounds stupid I know) or do I apply it and reseat the ihs and then let it cure before putting pressure on it? Another issue that caught my eye is LQPU says not to use on any aluminium material, the IHS for Intel is what? Nickel plated?

Currently I have gotten 4.5 stable at 1.3 volts on a custom loop. This nets me a high of 70 degrees. I have to use 1.4 for 4.6 and 1.47 for a 30 minute stable 4.7. At this point my temps max out at 90. In my eyes these temps are too high for a custom loop and it could be a seating issue, but if I'm going to reseat it, I mind as well delid it.

I would truely like to run it without the ihs, but from what I have seen this is somewhat of a messy/rigged setup. I would more than likely use IC for the TIM and electrical tape to hold down the processor. Looking for some advice on the above question and maybe a nudge or two in which direction I should go. Thanks!

Yep, IHS is nickel plated. As far as the Liquid Pro, you can apply it and put the block right on, just don't let it slide or twist much. I'm almost certain it cures during normal usage. Also remember that it's conductive, so don't let it touch anything.

Thanks so much for reassuring me! +rep. I have another question but for the life of me I can't remember it right now. Running on 4 hours of sleep and a 13 hour shift. If I remember it I will ask later. Thanks again!
