Diamondback 2013

diamondback2013.jpg
The picture above is a graphical setup and not actually real (not yet at least)

Features:

- 3.5G Infrared Sensor (450dpi, 800dpi, 1800dpi, 3600dpi), or perhaps still better the 3G Infrared sensor
- soft rubber cable
- new Lachesis mouse wheel
- wheel, logo and sides have independantly customizable LED lights
- Copperhead style shell (glossy sides, rubbersized top), side buttons and rubber illumination
- ON/OFF option for drift control

i'd agree with all of that, but i'd rather have their 4G laser/optical hybrid sensor than the 3.5G optical. in my experience, the PTE liftoff bug has been fixed with that new sensor.

I would love a Diamondback with the DA sensor (imo, probably the best sensor in the market right now smile.gif) I don't really care about Lift-off distance as I play at 3600 dpi or 1600 dpi.

What is a high-level advantage that laser sensor has over the 3.5g optical sensor? Don't you dare say DPI.
LOD. the DA 3.5G has absolutely terrible LOD with its sensor. the 4G sensor has the lowest I've ever used. DPI means nothing, I know that. But it's still nice to have 6400 DPI and 200 inches per second, with an emphasis on the 200 IPS. When I had my hands on the Imperator 4G for a short while, it tracked incredibly well on my Goliathus Alpha Control. i just hated the right side design. the DA is much more comfortable, but it's too heavy. that's why the DB proposed here would be perfect both shape, and size wise, but i digress.

Not sure if experts would agree. Mouse experts usually trash the 4G sensor and consider the 3G/3.5G Infrared to be the better option. I used the 3G with my Deathadder and use 3G with my Diamondback right now and love it, extremely accurate and stable tracking. I did the tape fix to lower the lift off distance and the sensor is just perfection now. But I'm not an expert so I can't tell for sure and realistically it is highly unlikely that Razer goes back to 3.5G (DA black edition is an exeption).

There is a Diamondback 3G (Deathadder 3G sensor). I have one. These are hard to come by now, but I managed to get one.

My "idea" was to combine the nicest features of Razer mice (functional and aesthetical) to create the ultimative Razer ambidextrous mouse. Diamondback shell, Copperhead top rubber and side buttons and side rubber illumination, Lachesis wheel, Deathadder dragon breath logo, Lachesis style multi color illumination, (Deathadder) 3.5G 3G sensor.

Is it too much to ask? biggrin.gif

in my experience, the 3.5G has a super unstable polling rate as i can verify through the use of DIMR (at least on the 4 deathadders i've had, all 3.5G models), which is another point against the 3.5G. i really, really wish i could have gotten my hands on the early DBs. the 3G 1800 DPI sensor Razer introduced was definitely the very best optical sensor of all time. but yes, for perfectionists' sake, the 4G still has just a hint of the PTE liftoff problem. it's really minuscule now though. otherwise that was definitely the best laser i ever came across, and it's even better that it doesn't suffer from the slight ADNS-9500 acceleration on other laser gaming mice.

Well, that might explain my positive experience wit the two 3G's I used. I actually never tried the 3.5G, I thought it was like 3G but with higher dpi.

OP I've wanted this for ages. And agree completely. I can't believe Razer don't have this type of model in their line up given that it was the shape and style that defined them for years.

Nice Idea.
Altrough I would LOVE to have an mini-deathadder with lod low and thick feets.
