AMD FX 4100 vs CORE i3 2100

Hello friends,
i want to know which of these processor runs smoothly because and would be good for a budget build, by smoothness i mean without small hangs while switching from one program to another and stucking while gaming and then again running. which of these will be good for butter smooth running normal programs

and which would be good for gaming i will be playing at 1024X768 resolution with medium settings with a AMD RADEON 7750

the i3 can handle most games that are GPU intensive thus for the most part a nice budget CPU smile.gif

games that also rely on CPU i would think a quad core like the FX4100 to excell

I had an i3 2120 for a few months - it was an awesome chip. Moved onto an i5 @ 4Ghz and didn't notice any difference apart from gaming. thumb.gif

The i3 will still game better than a Phenom II X6.

The i3 will be better..fx4100 is basically 2 cores/2 modules with much lower IPC.
the i3 I'm on right now (overclocked to 4.5)would be better than both of those tongue.gif
but getting a good mobo is expensive..and platform is outdated.
960T? i3 2100 will NOT run gta 4 as well as an overclocked 960T

coming from a 7 year old pentium you will definitely notices the difference with an i3.. doesnt matter if you go with a SB i3 or an IB i3 your difference will be very noticable thumb.gif
