Introducing the all-new 8200dpi 4G Dual Sensor System – outfitted with a laser and an optical sensor to accurately calibrate the mouse to any surface for exceptional pinpoint tracking. This lets you execute headshots with ease while moving with instant in-game responsiveness – a sensor that is a perfect match for your lightning fast reflexes.

I can't quite tell. A9800 is just a single VCSEL design. Ouroboros was Equipted with an A9818 (Razer also stated dual sensor), but the IPS rating and accel on this mouse look similar to the PTE.

IF I had to guess, I would go with the A9818 as they're already using it with another mouse. (Would be easier to create a linear firmware assuming same cypress microcontroller)

Only other option would be a new PTE design. PLN2033 is "only" 6400 DPI.

Looks great, especially since it's a true ambidextrous mouse. 80 bucks is a bit much though. Maybe wait to see reviews between this and the RAW?

EDIT: Also just noticed the weight, it's about the same as my MX310, very nice.

If it's using an avago laser sensor, then why would it need an optical sensor for surface calibration? Doesn't the avago already have that basically? Such as steelseries or Mionix mice?

My Lachesis and DA:B has served me well for the past years, this mouse looks extremely nice and sleek.
Not as hunchback'd as the deathadder and low(er) than the lachesis. This looks like the perfect mouse for me.

My next mouse was going to be a Steelseries XAI, but this has my attention.

this looks really promising. razer needs lighter mice à la the DB, but with a modern sensor. this is it. can't wait to try it out sometime.

So what's the release date?
July. I'll be grabbing one.

Thanks Skylit. Just came back to edit after googling.

My only concern is that at $80 it will be £80/$123 here (UK)

You don't think the mouse will suffer from acceleration issues which plagues the 9800 sensors? Or does it not bother you?

I have to say the shape looks phenomenal. I did quite like the abyssus if you could rest your pinky on the angled side. Unfortunately on the abyssus that was part of the mouse-1 button, so it wasn't as good. You would basically have two fingers on the same button. This new design appears to have corrected that problem.

If this mouse doesn't have acceleration it could be *gasp* the "ultimate" mouse for me o_O
