Gotta add, the scroll wheel feels pretty mushy when scrolling. Not the best feeling.

EDIT: And prepare to buy an extra set of feet..

That was expected with the crappy encoder they usuallly use and the feet that are getting worse and thinner from mouse generation to mouse generation.

Fortunately these are no deal breakers (which they probably are aware of and therefore using it to expand their profit anyway).

As far as I know the encoder is fine, its just crappy-made mechnical deisgn all over.

You're right. Crappy might be a little harsh. I just don't really like the TTC encoders much.

Yes. It is just the scroll wheel and the components that registers the wheel movement. Example:

The above is an mechanical encoder iirc. I believe below is an optical encoder.

Should be the other way around smile.gif (although it's not easy to see the differences in these)

EDIT: that's a good view on an optical encoder:

If you watch closely you can see the LED on the right side of the scroll wheel and on the left side is the wheel with the pins that either lets the light pass through to the sensor below or cuts it off depending on its position when the scroll wheel is turning.
