How much DPI do you really need?

It's the only one available to me, but I figure at least I'll be able to test it on a Razer hard pad that's not completely dark and will be a pre-calibrated in the software.
Thanks,

I have no first hand experience with ADNS-9xxx mice in combination with the Vespula but I think it should be fine. You could also always test it on your desk surface to see how it works there.

I figure this way I'll be able to use a pad that Razer has pre-calibrated with the Mouse and give a definitive answer on whether or not its the surface or the sensor.

Thanks =)

I don't like what I read here. I'm low sense low dpi guy prefering black cloth pads. I have an unused propus hardpad ready for this though, but still, the acceleration at high speed is a problem.

I hate Zowie for ****ty stiff mouse buttons and the horrible mouse wheel on the my AM. I'd have not need to look for another mouse otherwise. mad.gif

Guess it's time for another "need new mouse" thread...

Damn i love the design but i guess Sentinel Advance II is better if it comes to price/performance ratio.

Also, they include an extra set of mouse feet (made of teflon).

Just checked the default DPI steps by creating a fake account: 800-1800-4000-6400-8200

eww, no, gross

just because that mouse has a similar sensor that doesn't mean its anywhere near the Taipan's targeted demographic

as long as tracking performance is good enough, form factor for grip style is easily the most important attribute of a mouse, and the Taipan and Sentinel Advance II aren't really anything alike in that regard.

If Razer updates the DA/Imperator/Mamba to have the 9818 sensor (or introduces a new model entirely based on strict right hand ergonomics), one of those mice would be more akin to the SAII than the Taipan.

Edit: Just to mention it, imo is the Acceleration bigger than iin the Sensei.

Taipan is pricey. SAII is surely better if it comes to the price/performance ratio. If i want to spend a lot of money on a mouse, it must be perfect, Taipan ain't perfect.

Also, don't forget about Sensei MLG, it might be better than Taipan.
