Razer Taipan - Page 5

Apparently the main sensor is laser. Then that round sensor hole above it is optical sensor that tracks lift off. I wonder if it is Avago 9800 like Skylit believe it to be, but there is a custom implementation for the optical sensor added. 8200 dpi does match up with Avago 9800 specs.

Please God don't let it have acceleration thumb.gif

Small accel is better than dynamic DPI scaling.

If you absolutely cannot stand anything except linear 1:1 tracking then both accel and dynamic DPI scaling make mouse equally unusable. smile.gif

Its not that 8200 cpi matches up (custom sensors dont follow normal spec) but rather why Philips would release a sensor that only matches its competition. I posted a much better picture a within a minute prior to your post. The main sensor is certainly a DIP-16 laserstream design (Avago).

I would like to add that the 2nd sensor has to be considerably smaller than the typical 20 pin (s3888) for it to fit on top (Unless Razer has a really elaborate daughter + main ee design).

Few choices here: 3050/5050.. etc or maybe even a PTE. (I know marketing stated both laser and optical, but something tells me those specs are listed like that for a reason)..

Anyway I'm sure the firmware and microcontroller is shared with the ouroboros at this point. Really wish I saved those pictures now. ;o

I'm using deathadder right now (mouse that I hate) cause I don't find anything that tracks as good as this.

Hopefully this will fill my soul tongue.gif

Since I'm not sure, just for reference, what is the exact sensor that's in the DeathAdder 3.5G?

I have the dual sensor Imperator. Only bought it for the shape. The lift off feature does not work for me and many people. Razer likes to fix problems buy making u buy a new product.
