Razer Taipan - Page 48

330

There appears to be a small amount of -ve to +ve acceleration compared to an Abyssus, consistent with previous report by EnthusiastR.

Results from simultaneous left to right swipes of a Taipan and an Abyssus at different speeds across a Black Puretrak Stealth cloth pad. (smaller version of Talent) Each swipe was about 10" in total distance.
Abyssus 450 cpi / 1000 Hz
Taipan 800 cpi / 1000 Hz

Total Counts / cpi = distance
%diff distance = (Taipan - Abyssus) / Abyssus
Peak Velocity = calculated Abyssus maximum velocity for the swipe using 8ms window to average multiple reports (helps smooth out spikes)

Yup, looks to be the exact same situations I experienced and showed in my review. Thanks for confirming =)

It's a simular accel curve to the 9500 as shown in the graph I linked.

Lower speed motion can register both positive and negative accel, while high speed (Over 40 IPS) is typically almost always positive.

2x DA 3gs, original, all buttons, sensor working flawless.
All that gotten worn out is the pads which I replaced.

Mine was the DA 3.5, Its the one you can get if you go to Best Buy right now and grab one off the shelves.

I can say the Tiapan and the Naga are much better mice than that one. I wonder if they cheapened it with the newer version.

Nope. I would even go as far as saying that the newer mice (V3+) could be considered better from certain aspects.

Edit: Things like switches are the luck of the draw. Moving up to higher end mice or different brands isn't going to really change much as a lot of them use the same or simular layouts. Of course general ID improves as you move up.

I agree. My Black Edition DA feels a lot more solid than my original DeathAdder did.

@ DA. The original models were slightly lighter. V3+ should all be 112-113~ grams
trends I'm seeing point towards lighter weight mice from Razer wink.gif

Wish Logitech would go that way, but they don't see that endeavor as profitable.

Fun fact: MMO mice are the best sellers in the american region.
