No and its usually preferred you don't have drivers so that it doesn't mess with markc fix or cpl mouse fix or any registry acceleration fix if you have one. All you need to do is pick the desired dpi and thats it. I do think you need to have the driver to calibrate the lift off distance but I heard the lift off distance is already low.

Depends on the driver itself. There's really nothing that could mess up markC's patched accel curve. Sensitivity is scaled on hardware itself though software.

Tbh, I think it's foolish if synapse 2.0 didn't include the capability or firmware to save settings on to the mouse itself. Hardware isn't a bottleneck here.

Does anyone have problem with the taipan sometimes lagging for a fraction of a second? I get these weird moments where the mouse just freezes up before continuing on its past. It's less than a second but clearly noticeable when you're moving the mouse. I wanna know if I'm the only one with the problem

I have noticed this too. I have never seen it in a game though. Always when I am browsing the web. I am sure it will be fixed when they update the driver

I certainly hope so too. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing problem. I've been trying to play around with poll rate but that didn't seem to fix the problem. Does having higher poll rate really helps the mouse that much ?

Same here. I've also noticed it a couple times in BF3 but not as frequently as it happens on desktop. They need to update synapse a little faster...

The only time i ever get that lag is when I switch DPI and it takes a moment for the software to change. The mouse will freak out when synapse opens or closes as well. Other than that I haven't had any issues like that, but I'll keep an eye out and edit my post if I start having issues.

I'd just like to say though, the Taipan's shape lived up 100% to my expectations. I wasn't sure if I'd like the textured rubberized sides, but they feel extremely nice for both claw and finger tip grip, and both grips are rather easy to do with the mouse. Granted, I hold the mouse different than most people, so my thoughts on how the grip works probably isn't the most helpful(I have my middle finger on the scroll wheel at all times and ring on the right mouse button, only using my pinky+thumb on the sides of the mouse.)

Also, what skates would people suggest getting with the Taipan? I can't say I'm the most experienced with buying them, but I can clearly see that the ones that come with it aren't going to last long.

Polling rates on mice are just a gimmick. I don't think it matters once its above 200-300 or so. I have always left mine on 500. I don't think cranking it up to 1000 does you any good at all.

^Not really, but it's really subjective to play style and other hardware.

Just in case there is any confusion the Taipan absolutely does not save any settings on the mouse. If you unplug the mouse with customized settings and plug it into another computer without Synapse 2.0 logged into your account the controls will be the default. Any additional testing I can do, by all means please let me know!

Best,
George K
