Razer Taipan - Page 69

I just placed my order through Amazon! I got the Logitech G400 biggrin.gif

I also ordered the Plantronics GameCom 780 because it was super cheap on amazon, at least 50% off so I couldn't refuse because I desperately needed a headset too. And also bought the Steelseries Qck+

Plantronics make the best value/price headsets imo.
Very smart buy if you ask me.

Quick comment after using this mouse for a couple months.

Hated it at first. Pretty happy with it now. Originally I had this weird crappy lag that made me want to hurl it against the wall. Once I did some research and set it up correctly (including mouse pad setting) the lag went away, totally. I set it up for my Razer Goliathus speedpad.

Synapse I'm not fond of (the cloud) but it hasn't really been an issue either.

I went through about 5+ mice before I settled on this and so far so good. My needs were: great for FPS, fit my smaller than normal hands, and worked well for fingertip/claw grip.

The price was a little high but worth it in the end.

Couple mice that didn't fit my needs and why.

Zowie Am - kept slipping out of my hand and the mouse wheel felt a little cheap
Deathadder black- a little to big other than that. Its my backup mouse
G400 - to much palm required. I didn't like using my grip style with it.
CM Spawn - EWWW that aweful pinky rest! I didn't like it at all.
Roccat Kova+ - forget exactly why I shelved it....but I think it was the side buttons. Don't quote me. wink.gif

That crappy lag ? The main problem is that crappy 4G-Dual-Sensor wink.gif

BTW: did you only solve your lag issue by using a different mousepad or by firmwareupdate ?

Zowie AM indeed has a terrible mousewheel - and the mouse stinks like hell thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif
Deathadder is too big for me as well and the thumb buttons are sitting too low for me so I often clicked them by accident thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif
CM Spawn is "pinky" ? Isn't it a bright red with a shimmering effect ?

The problem has nothing to do with the mouse being dual sensor.

I'm shelving my Taipan. While I like it a lot as far as shape and tracking there is no way I'm putting up with the Data Mining issue due to the online all the time Synapse utility. I ordered a CM Recon. It should be here tomorrow. thumb.gif

Man... that's what I wrote earlier in this thread here:

1) Selecting a mousepad that you're using your Taipan on under the Synapse software - they, for obvious reasons, only list Razer mousepads
or
2) Manually calibrating your mouse to the surface you're using (if you don't have a Razer mousepad).
This is just a guess...
I once had a Taipan before, and I, too, noticed the cursor movement was a bit funky... at first. But doing the mousepad selection/calibration made things a lot better (IIRC).
Again, this is just from memory, as I once had a Taipan, but returned it (now I want one again). Someone should try this out and report on the results.

Yet, people keep denying there are any solutions to this "issue", even though, we, the owners of this mouse, know factually, is not the case. Like people here:

I'm curious if the surface calibration does anything about the acceleration issues this sensor usually has?
