I don't know what it is, but with the surface calibration on, it does feel like when moving the cursor slowly, the cursor moves quite slow, then when you pick up speed up, the cursor accelerates quite quickly. Im using a Razer Golithius Speed Edition.

Yeah, the Taipan is snappy now. Maybe I just got too used to the Ouroboros, who knows.

No, I never use surface calibration. However the LOD on the Taipan on QCK+ is annoying.

Well today i thought i'd pull out my razer copperhead again. I still feel like it is the better mouse. I did a side by side comparison, i still feel the copperhead has a lower input lag than the taipan. While the taipan lag has been fixed quite a bit, i think it could be better

Is there a new edition of the Taipan out? The link on the first page says it's a dual sensor mouse.

This one says single 8200 dpi sensor: http://www.razerzone.com/licensed-and-team-peripherals/razer-taipan-esports-edition-evil-geniuses/?src=pgm.87291100

Or maybe the just left out the information about it being a dual system. I don't know...

The (lousy photoshopped) picture on the bottom showed only one sensor as well. But the press release says it's a Dual sensor system http://www.techpowerup.com/195044/razer-to-introduce-evil-geniuses-branded-gaming-peripherals.html

Looks like the new eSports edition of the taipan comes with a 32bit ARM processor inside. That could be a key in reducing input lag within the mouse. However we need somebody to compare the two.

why the taipan?
im trying to think of pro players they sponsor who even use the taipan. i think i've seen maybe 1 eg starcraft player when watching the GSL last year? all the rest of them use abyssus (and believe me, i look). dota 2 team uses death adders, not sure about the LoL team (but clg has a razer death adder).

if it was an eg branded da or abyssus or something i might have been more interested. i could care less about the kb and pad, the team liquid pad is way nicer anyway.

Ex6TenZ from former VeryGames CS:GO team use Taipan. Only CS player I know use it though. tongue.gif

I bet its gonna be one sensor, and it will be the new PTE line from Philips.

Evil Geniuses Taipan seems to have only one sensor, might fix the lag issue.

Yesssssss! Confirms my findings with the Ouroboros. Going to pick one up once I'm back home!

FYI: I've noticed the "lag" issues with the Taipan was improved, however the newer Ouroboros variants with the same Arm 32bit as described above, has much, much less vs the "improved" Taipan. I enjoyed the sensor on the Ouroboros, but the weight and plastic feel of the mouse left something to be desired.

I love the shape and lightness of the Taipan though, so the EG edition should be fun to try out. Can't stand the LOD on the G400s but the tracking and responsiveness is wonderful.

According to the pictures above, it also looks like it has much thicker mouse feet! Woot.

Hopefully razer improves upon the regular Taipan and Ouroboros! I hope that'll exchange 2 brand new mice for the newer revisions.
