Help with slow down problem

Thread Starter
Im having problems using DVD or CD rom drives with my computer that has a MSI P965 neo Motherboard. When I transfer files or read stuff off a optical device the entire computer slows down to a crawel and any music or any thing that was playing slows down by at least 100%

Heres another link about it
http://www.overclock.net/hard-drives...rformance.html

This is really important I have not been able to find a solution so far.

It depends what data you are streaming from the Optical drive. If its complex such as Compressed files then this can be why also. Different File types can cause different slow downs. However this issue can also occure if you have the Optical drive on the same IDE as your HDD. If so then move your Optical drive to its own IDE channel namely IDE2

Also such slowdowns can be caused by improper chipset software. Make sure you have the latest chipset drivers and BIOS installed for your motherbaord. However it sounds more like my 1st idea on the matter.
