The Kraken is much more than just a DLB starter. However, that feature was added and it does help with TPF.
The original thread is from AMDZone, here.
Just remember the new ones, starting with 0.7-pre are very beta in nature. So be diligent in monitoring the system and report any possible issues to help the development.
I am running 0.7-pre11 but notice the rev is now up to -pre14 as they work on some issues with v7 and SMP runs.
DLB engagement with this latest pre-release is almost (if not) 100%, which is a fantastic accomplishment compared to the previous hit-and-miss without it.

I got ubuntu back up and running, then followed your The Kraken Guide G3RG. Everything appeared to be correct, but it ballooned my TPF from ~7:20 to 8:05-8:10!

Edit: Running pre14, and 12.04

Honestly I don't, you and NorxMal are the only two people to have this issue lol, I'd uninstall it (cd to the fah directory and run thekraken -u)
Delete all the kraken files and try again.

Updated to theKraken v.7-pre15

Follow the uninstallation directions, delete theKraken folders and files in the FAH directory, and then reinstall theKraken following the directions.

I want to set this up on my 10.10 server, but can't find a cache of the original, advanced, command-line only instructions G3RG posted. I keep having trouble extracting the tarball, and get errors when I use the "make" command after extraction.
