Thanks for all the input folks!!
EDIT: When averaging the max core temp after heat sink reset it's 81.5C. One core (core #1) can get up to 87C, but is hanging around 83C.

Temps - Glad to hear they are better. I find Prime95 runs about 10C hotter than gaming, so your temps seem right for a CM212.

SLI - It depends on your budget. One beefy card will be less hassle than two.
Two ways to approach it: Tight budget ex: IF two GTX460's will give you more performance than you need now, then buy them together because they won't be around much longer and going SLI will require buying the second one used. ($115 each on Newegg after rebate)
Good budget: If you can swing a GTX 670, then just get one because you will most likely have 2 years to aquire a second one.

Cheers

GeminiWB -

I forgot to mention that I have ran 3 sli'ed rigs and one single uber gpu rig. Only had driver hassles once while using sli, but never had them with a single gpu. One thing about sli - you don't double your ram, so if the game you want to play needs 1.25Gb of vram, two 1Gb cards will slow down when the extra is needed.

Keep us posted!

Thread Starter
Well, less hassle is less hassle! I try for a GTX 660-70 in the next month or so. I will sli that much later if I need to! LOL

Till then I'm going to be tweaking OC settings. As I said yesterday I got it to 4.3GHz with good temps and a 4 hour prim95 stress test. I did fine. I then put BOINC on running Rosetta. All my simulations ended with computational errors, so somethings not quite right. I put it back down to 4.2GHz and am rerunning prime95. Temps are lower, as expected. I'll run new data sets for Rosetta later today and see if I can get some good results.

I way I'm OC'ing is just bumping the Turbo multiplier to 42, BCLK to 100. All voltages left to auto, except PLL to 1.65 (seem to keep auto vcore down a bit more). Perhaps I should start a new thread, but should I just turn Turbo off and run at a set multiplier and just be OK without it throttling down when idling? It's going to be a 24/7 rig running BOINC and gaming.

Anyway, thanks for all the advice and wisdom!!
