We have received info from an anonymous source. That comes from the Wii U devkit, so the specifications may change with the retail version (slightly) . To sum up you are not going to have a retail system more powerful than the devkit. Nintendo aren’t going to reveal that kind of information, but you can gain a valuable insight around Wii U specs.

It's got 6 times the main memory of a PS3 (1.5 GB in the retail Wii U vs. 256 MB), so that alone should account for something.

Current features are modeled after OpenGL and the AMD r7xx series of graphics processors. Wii U’s graphics processor is referred to as GPU7.

It seems to have a card from the 4000 series. That ALONE even if it it a 7750 beats what the PS3 and 360 have

Graphics and CPU wise it's looking like a very mildly upgraded Xbox 360. Kinda disappointing. Even in memory, that's not much at all. I know consoles due to near no overhead don't need as much and can utilize memory better than any PC can, but only 1.5GB for retail units seems lame for 2012/2013.

When the gamecube was out, it was pretty much as powerful as the XBOX which was a decent PC for that era. It literally had a IIRC 1.*Ghz Talutin Celeron and GeForce 3 on board. The xbox 360, when it came out, was actually faster than most-all PCs on the market, with the GPU driving it more powerful than what was available to the PC crowd, when released(the x1900s and x1950s came very soon after that, and are what the 360's GPU is based on).

Can't really compare it to a PS3 or an Xbox. This is suppose to be "next gen" gaming. And as we're all too aware, the previous generation is 6yrs old now.

But hey, we're mostly enthusiasts here. Our gaming system spec sheets change almost monthly! Why do I even care about this? O.o

HD Smash Brothers with lag-free online play please!

That alone warrants a buy from me. PC + Nintendo exclusives is gaming bliss IMO.

That controller makes me sad. Looks awful to use.

How much GPU memory?

The games like Batman and Zombi U weren't very impressive.
